All civil piloted aircraft within the ADIZ are to use the mobile application "Safe Sky", and pilots shall be reachable via mobile phone at all times during the flight, except paragliders, who shall be reachable via the Latvian Paragliding Federation assigned contact person (tel. +371 22442307).
In addition, if an aircraft carries a serviceable SSR transponder, a pilot shall operate the transponder at all times during the flight.
If the pilot detects that the “Safe Sky” mobile application is not operational prior to the intended flight, the pilot shall call +371 65002670 or e-mail to afcp@mil.lv before the take-off and provide the following information:
a) type of aircraft;
b) aircraft registration;
c) intended flight route or area;
d) mobile phone number;
e) pilot’s first and last name.
